SAP training on your system, with your processes

In our implementation engagements we have prepared and trained the key users – not on a standard demo system, but on the project system with the company’s own processes. In doing so we train the application processes in logistics, purchasing, sales and transport as they actually run at your company. We also offer this independently of a project, for companies that want to keep their SAP knowledge in house.

Training is part of every implementation we support, because an SAP programme only succeeds with the people who will carry it later. And the key users we trained often work with us again in the next release or rollout.

How you know you need this

Training needs show up in day-to-day operations, not in personnel files:

  • The same questions keep landing with the same two people.
  • Processes are bypassed in Excel instead of being mapped in the system.
  • After a release change, incorrect postings and open items pile up.
  • A go-live is approaching and the business departments have not yet seen the new system.

How we proceed

Depending on goal and audience, we offer four formats:

Key user training

The core of what we offer. The people who will later answer their colleagues’ questions in house learn their processes on the project system – preferably on site.

End user training for go-live

Tailored to each person’s tasks and shortly before the start, with exercises on the real workflows and materials to refer back to.

Process workshops for business departments

This is not about transactions but about the process: who does what, when, with which document – and why.

Over-the-shoulder support

We sit next to the users at the real system during live operation. No format eliminates errors in day-to-day business faster.

A training session lasts one to three days per module, with 6 to 12 participants, on site or remote; key user training we prefer to hold on site on the project system. The effort depends on format and number of participants – we are happy to make you a specific offer.

How a training session runs

  1. Needs clarification

    1–2 hours

We clarify with you who should be able to do what after the training – which processes, which system, which release.

  2. Preparation

    1–2 weeks

We prepare the materials in your system language and with your processes and set up exercise data in the training or project system.

  3. Delivery

    1–3 days per module

On the system, with exercises, in groups of 6 to 12 participants.

  4. Follow-up

    as agreed

We remain available for follow-up questions after the training – within the agreed scope.

From your side we need a training system with realistic data – and the participants’ time, all of it, not squeezed between two appointments.

What you end up with

  • Training materials in your system language and with your processes – not an SAP standard manual
  • Key users who can answer their colleagues’ questions themselves
  • A certificate of attendance for every participant
  • Availability for follow-up questions after the training – within the agreed scope

What we do not do

  • We do not offer open standard courses with a fixed calendar. Every training session is prepared for your system and your processes.
  • We do not train SAP Basis or developer topics. Our field is the application processes in logistics, purchasing, sales and transport.
  • We do not train on slides when a system is available.

Typical questions

How many key users do we need?
At least one per process area and site, preferably two in large areas, so that holidays and staff turnover do not lead to lost knowledge. More important than the number is the selection: key users need functional responsibility and time – not an additional catch-all function.
Do we train before or after go-live?
Key users before go-live, because they are needed in testing and during cut-over. End users shortly before – anyone trained too early has forgotten much of it by the start. And after go-live we recommend over-the-shoulder support, because that is when the real questions come.
Can you train our own processes instead of the SAP standard?
Yes, that is exactly the point. Standard courses are available from SAP. We train how things run at your company, on your system.
What does a training session cost?
The price depends on format and number of participants – we are happy to make you a specific offer. Billing is arranged to suit your case: per day, per participant or at a fixed price.

Initial consultation on SAP training

Whom would you like to enable, and by when? From that we develop a suitable format together and make you a specific offer. If you are an implementation partner in the middle of a rollout and the key user training is to be in experienced hands, that is a part we take on within your project.
